1.Clean the house thoroughly

2.Do clean the corners as there is a lot of negative energy here.

3.Light diyas using ghee and avoid using oil. If, somehow, oil is to be used, then avoid using sunflower oil.

4.Light up the diyas/ lamps all around but the mouth of the diya must not face towards south direction. Take care of this aspect.

5.Keep two diyas / lamps outside the main door entrance to welcome maa laxmi and lord ganesh

6.Do laxmi pooja within the mahurat for better prospects.

7.Do not gift antique items on Deepawali. Also do not gift watches/ time pieces/ clocks etc. Avoid giving towels as gifts, however, if it is unavoidable, then gift towel along with a coin.
